Keep Looking Up!

Keep Looking Up!

Welcome to day four of our 21 Days of Devotions. Today’s thoughts were prepared by Brenda Conley. She is a true woman of God who hears from Him on a daily basis.

In my Father’s House are many mansions, if it were not so I would have told you.  I go to prepare a place for you, and if I go to prepare a place for you I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am there you may be also.

I love the King James Version of this verse because that is how I memorized it as a kid.  I think we forget that this place where we live, “Earth” is a temporary place.  Jesus came, died, rose again, and is preparing (making arrangements) a place for us.  He might already be finished “preparing” and sitting at the Father’s right hand, this I do not know.  One thing I do know, He came and completed His purpose for His life.

We have a plan and a purpose for our lives also.  Only you would know what that entails, it’s so different for each of us.  But I am certain we have a purpose for this time. We live in this time for a reason. We were created for such a time as this.

If you draw out a line on a piece of paper, say a standard 8 x 11 sheet, and highlight a millimeter, that one little millimeter would represent your life on this earth.  The rest of the line on that paper is eternity.  We all need to have THAT perspective of life.  This time on earth is only a very teeny, tiny part of our whole existence.

What is the plan and purpose God has for you while you are here?

Don’t get bogged down with the events of here and now, and what things currently look like.  Don’t get sidetracked.

I pray God gives you a bigger picture of that hope and future, the place He is preparing for us, and what your part in all this looks like.

Keep Looking UP!

In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so I would have told you.  I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. John 14:2-3 KJV

For I know the thoughts and plans that I have for you, says the Lord, thoughts and plans for welfare and peace and not for evil, but to give you hope in your final outcome. Jeremiah 29:11 AMP

And who knows but that you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this and for this very occasion. Esther 4:14
