20 Jul LOVE = REACH Day 37
God has marked our lives with Conquest and Impossibilities. Each of us is designed to birth something. God wants to bring something that is impossible out of every one of us. Something that without Him could never happen.
Genesis 18:9-15
And they said unto him, Where is Sarah thy wife? And he said, Behold, in the tent.
10 And he said, I will certainly return unto thee according to the time of life; and, lo, Sarah thy wife shall have a son. And Sarah heard it in the tent door, which was behind him.
11 Now Abraham and Sarah were old and well stricken in age; and it ceased to be with Sarah after the manner of women.
12 Therefore Sarah laughed within herself, saying, After I am waxed old shall I have pleasure, my lord being old also?
13 And the Lord said unto Abraham, Wherefore did Sarah laugh, saying, Shall I of a surety bear a child, which am old?
14 Is any thing too hard for the Lord? At the time appointed I will return unto thee, according to the time of life, and Sarah shall have a son.
15 Then Sarah denied, saying, I laughed not; for she was afraid. And he said, Nay; but thou didst laugh.
Sarah laughed because she thought she was past the point of being able to give birth to something miraculous.
I wonder how often we do the same. God places a seed of something in our hearts and we laugh simply because we lack the faith to believe that He could ever use us to REACH our city, community, or workplace. We laugh because we think there is no way He would use us to LOVE someone and share Christ with them when we are a mess ourselves.
However, if you read the New Testament account of this story it says:
Hebrews 11:11
“Through faith also Sara herself received strength to conceive seed, and was delivered of a child when she was past age, because she judged him faithful who had promised.”
Sarah had a role – the role was to think about His faithfulness. The power of the miracle is not in my efforts, but in the Word He speaks. We have a role to REACH people and to introduce people to Christ.
Don’t you love that God has re-written the story of our lives?
The Lord wants to manifest what He’s doing in the Earth through people. He wants to use you to birth spiritual sons and daughters. Don’t laugh at the work He wants to do, but through faith expect it and see what He will do!
