Proverbs 30: v. 28

The spider takes hold with her hands and is in the kings palaces

 

The spider is uniquely different than the 4 other creatures mentioned in this chapter.

  • It is not an insect.
  • It has its own species
  • It is an arachnoid.  It has 2 body parts – 8 legs

The spider made it into the text of Scripture so it is worth examining.

The spider is said to be in the kings palace. Do you want to end up in the Kings Palace? I know I do :: so I want to study the uniqueness of the spider.

The spider is the only one the Bible endorses its end. When you can hear from anything that ends up in the palace you need to learn from it.

Though the spider is little – it has wisdom

Each species of spider is distinctive. There are commonalities among them though.

The spider does not have a specific house – it is inside of its own body. It doesn’t need a particular element to survive. It has everything it needs for survival.

Characteristics of a spider:

  • The make their own web
  • It has everything it needs to produce eggs on the inside of it
  • It wraps the eggs in a web
  • It will wrap its prey in another type of web
  • The spider uses its enemy for food
  • The spider knows how to reproduce itself

How the spider relates to a Christian:

  • There is something in you that God wants you to reproduce
  • It’s in me and it’s gotta come out
  • The thing you’ve been carrying on the inside has to flow on the outside
  • You are defeated if you do not produce what God has placed on the inside of you

We are designed to reproduce. It is in our DNA as believers (much like the spider). I challenge you to realize: all that you need is on the inside of you so begin reproducing yourself! Find others who need Christ and REACH them with the Good News of Jesus.
