06 Jul LOVE = REACH Day 25

^6 “And when they had this done, they inclosed a great multitude of fishes: and their net brake.” Luke 5:6

Think Big! We see this principle in Luke 5: 6: God wants more people saved! He uses the illustration of the boat filled with a great number of fish to demonstrate that He wants our churches filled with people. God wants great numbers, because numbers represent people. To Jesus, each person is an eternal soul that He died for and had in mind on the cross. It would be strange for us to not rejoice when we see the fulfillment of God’s purposes when more people are added to the Church. Our God wants a packed house. When Jesus told the parable of the great supper, He illustrated God’s desire for His house to be filled: “And the lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled”
(Luke 14: 23). We need to clearly understand that our Lord and Savior didn’t die for a select few but for everyone. With this revelation, it is now our responsibility, empowered by the Holy Spirit, to share the good news and believe for all men to be saved. Thus, our thinking and influence must be enlarged.
This little verse gives us a secret to a great catch: “when they had done this.” In other words, when they had responded to God’s initiative. When we do what God wants us to do, great things happen. Our role is to discern what God is doing and get on board. He desires that everyone be saved, and if we are willing to respond to His direction, He would love for us to participate in loving and helping people everywhere. Great trust and obedience precede great numbers. Just ask Abraham. He obeyed God to the point of being willing to sacrifice his son Isaac, and God promised to bless him and multiply his descendants. We must incorporate a total, immediate, obedient response to the Word of God into every aspect of our life.
Allow God to give you a dream. A Big DREAM. We at Lake Hills are dreaming big for our community, region, state, and nation! Like Abraham when he stood out and saw the stars of the sky and heard the Dream that God had for Abraham’s life – he realized it was too big to achieve without God’s help! There are multitudes of people that need to be reached and we are dreaming of how, with God’s help, we will be able to share the Gospel with them!

ACT:

Begin to write down the dream that God has placed in your life and pray over that dream! Speak it out loud! Declare it when you pray!

REACH:

Take one step that will help prepare you for that dream. What do you need to do today that will help you achieve what God has placed in your heart?
